I bought a calligraphy pen over Christmas to start a new art project, really excited!

This is last night at about 11 o'clock, Mike was in the midst of me cleaning my studio for the new year!

Hello friends and happy Wednesday! I am starting a new {picture project} so I can keep track of all the pictures I take during the year. The goal is to take one picture everyday and post them here on Wednesdays! I will combine them all in one post each week, so you will see pictures from Wednesday to Wednesday! I can't wait to see where this picture taking takes me!

The best cake ever on such a gloomy night!

My New Years Eve started out great I got up showered, put on my new hot pink shirt and glitter peacock earrings and headed an hour up the road to my dads house to exchange Christmas with him. I even stopped for a peppermint hot chocolate from McDonald's on the way. I arrived at my dads house and we had lunch and exchanged gifts and talked. I left around 3 o' clock to head back to get ready for the party that me and Mike were going to host for the children we teach. I was so excited, my brother Ronald had picked out the best cake at Sam's Club {winter white cake with Bavarian cream}. We also were going to have spaghetti with salad and French bread. And the children were excited to play {dirty santa}! About two hours into the party I received at text message from my mom telling me she was at the movies but my dad had a heart attack and was at the hospital. Don't think my mom doesn't care about him, they are divorced so she wasn't really panicked. I freaked out, my hands were shaking, I was sobbing and all in front of my sweet children. I tried calling everyone I knew to get in touch with someone finally I called my sister to get my step moms cell phone number. I called my step mom in utter panic and she was telling me that my dad had had chest pains, and the nitro patch didn't work. Then she put my dad on the phone and I lost it. Funny thing is he was the one consoling me instead of him. He kept telling me everything was going to be ok and I just had to trust that. I wanted to run right out of that church and drive up there but I had 12 children huddled all around me telling me how much they loved me and that they were praying for my dad. Isn't great how God has us in the right place at the right time?

My dad is doing great! Today he is having a heart cath and he has to quick smoking and go on a heart healthy diet! Praise the Lord! I have called everyday about 10 times a day to check on him. His doctor was most concerned about how fast this heart attack come on and what it took to stop it. If the paramedics had not told him chew 4 baby aspirin he probably would not be here. Thanks you Lord for baby aspirin and smart paramedics!

I know the Lord has something good to come out of this I'm just not sure what yet. Maybe its my dads wake up call to stop smoking, he told me he has been smoking since he was 12, ha!

One of my New Years resolutions is to thank God for everyday I have been given, especially since I was so sick last year and now my dad since this makes his 3rd heart attack.

Christmas eve EVE!

Oh these past couple of weeks have been humbling, magical and lovely! We passed out 84 goodie bags and sang to the old folks at the assisted living home. I cried, they cried, it was humbling, it was sad, it was joy full and it was God filled. We caroled last night at four homes, that was so fun. I saw my first live nativity tonight, that was magical. I spent alone time with each of my siblings, much needed and we had a lot of fun. I wish Christmas was year round. I love the lights, the music, the helping of others. This year has been rough but I am thankful to God that He gave me another Christmas to share with my family after how sick I was this summer. I'm off to finish wrapping gifts and baking a couple of buttermilk custard pies! Merry Christmas friends!

Angel Biscuits

My granny used to make Angel Biscuits at Christmas time when I was little. Just to smell them reminds me of her! Here is her {secret} recipe!

Angel Biscuits

about 5 cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup shortening

1 package dry yeast

2 tablespoons warm water

2 cups buttermilk

1/2 cup softened butter

Combine dry ingredients; cut in shortening until mixture is consistency of coarse meal. Dissolve yeast in water; stir yeast mixture and buttermilk into flour mixture, mixing well. Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface, and roll into a rectangle 1/4 inch thick; spread evenly with butter. Fold dough in half, and cut into 2 inch squares. Place on greased baking sheets. Bake biscuits at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen

Granny's Buttermilk Custard Pie

Let me tell you this pie has been a {hit} in my family for years! My brother has me make him his own pie for Christmas! Oh it is so so good!

Granny's Buttermilk Custard Pie
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 butter softened
3 eggs beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 unbaked pie shell
Mix sugar and flour; mix cream with butter. Add eggs, vanilla, salt and buttermilk. Gently pour into pie shell and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees or until filling is set!

Seventeen years ago on December 2ND we got a call from the ER that my grandaddy had had a heart attack. He went to be with Jesus about an hour after we got there. He waited! Prior to him being in the ER he had been battling bone cancer and we {literally} lived with him in the hospital. Because that's what are family does! After my mom would get off work we would pack our bags and head over to the hospital. We ate dinner together in that tiny room and did homework. We slept on reclining chairs and took showers in the tiny bathroom in the morning before school. You see my grandaddy was like a father to me. Me and my sister loved him deeply!
After my parents got divorced we moved in with my grandparents. I loved it! I had a constant {love} in that house! I was very close to my grandparents even though I was young when they went home to Jesus. I was 8 when my granny went home and 14 when my grandaddy went home. My grandaddy loved this place called The Dog House! His favorite hot dog was a Collie dog! He always played with us and had {midnight} snacks of milk poured over bread while we watched western movies late at night. He bought me my first typewriter because I made the middle school newspaper as the recipe columnist, ha ha! He was proud! He would help me go through my granny's recipes to find the most delicious ones!
He owned a drug store called Kale Drug in downtown Durham, NC. He was a very smart man and graduated at the top of his class from the UNC pharmacy school. He payed his way through college by collecting coal from the train tracks. He met my granny while he was sick in the hospital and she was his nurse. {That's so romantic}
So you see that's why we couldn't leave him there in that hospital while he was sick. He needed us and we needed him! I can still smell him today, he smelled of Lance crackers and shaving cream. The summer before he got sick, he went down hill. He was using the bathroom in his bed, throwing up and falling. But he was stubborn and didn't want to go to the doctor. Plus he was 6 foot and very stocky so it wasn't like we could pick him up and put him in the car and go. His last meal before he went to the hospital was at his favorite restaurant Honey's! He loved the child's plate spaghetti and a sprite. He ordered the child's plate to save money, ha ha! After dinner when we were leaving he fell walking out the door. I knew then he needed help. He agreed to go to the doctor and that's when we found out he had cancer.
Theres not a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I stayed home a week after he passed away. I would go in his room and *smell* him and lay in his bed and plunder through his tool box where he would hide candy bars { I found a snickers that he had not eaten, me and my sister saved it}. I wore his plaid shirts to school and could smell him all day, it was the best feeling knowing I had a piece of him with me. That was a hard school year.
So grandaddy, I love you and will see you one day in heaven! I know God has you all hooked up with Lance crackers, cereal and sardines!

Sweet Pigs in a Blanket

Molly's Sweet Pigs in a Blanket

1 package of lil' smokies
2 packages of crescent rolls
Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce
poppie seeds
honey Dijon mustard

Place lil' smokies and the bbq sauce in the crock pot. Let simmer for 30 minutes. Place oven to setting on crescent roll box. Place one smokie in one crescent roll. Continue until all crescent rolls and lil smokies are rolled up. Sprinkle poppie seeds on top. Bake in oven. Serve warm and dip in mustard!

Hello December! Thank you for coming with a cold morning and hot orange spice tea!

Thank you for blessing us with a bright blue sky and quacking ducks and
laying hens!

I am looking forward to many Christmas parties and fellowship with my church
family!

*You* bring the joy of giving out 84 treasure bags and singing sweet Christmas
music to the assisted living home in two weeks!

*You* come bearing gifts and service and love to all!

*You* also gave a child a bible last night that yelled out to {me} in the cold
that she needed one to read! And that's a gift in itself!

But most of all you bring a Savior that was born and died for are sins! And that's
the best gift of all!

{This year has been rough but in the midst of this *storm* we have praised God and thanked Him for letting us live out this life He gave us. And humbling ourselves before Him and spreading His gospel. Because He chose us to give service, love little children and share His Good News! And for that we are humbly GRATEFUL!}

Thanksgiving and a Wrap!

Thanksgiving was very good this year! One I made it another year and two I was surrounded by family! This past year has been the pits but I am thankful that the Lord gave me another year! My sister took some pictures of us but has yet to send them to me so you can't see the fun we had yesterday until I get them, ha ha. I waited until the night before to make my famous buttermilk custard pies and all the grocery stores and Walmart was sold out of buttermilk. I was upset but had brought my recipe book so I scouted out a easy recipe. Lets just say the pies I made were a complete fail! All the grocery stores were out of cool whip too so I substituted dream whip instead. Oh that made my blueberry pie very runny. But we all laughed about it so!

Handmade Costume

Nerd Cat, Sparkly Owl and Ronald at trunk or treat last night!
I made my costume out of metallic fabric and hot glued it to a old shirt. I used glue dots to attach my beak and owl eye brows! Everyone loved my costume! It was so fun to wear and comfy! I love my sisters costume, it is so original! When she told me she was going to be a nerd cat, I instantly loved her originality and cuteness to be a nerd cat! My brother is dressed up as himself :)

Chillay and a Hoot Owl

Me and my husband have been eating {chillay} for a couple of weeks! Not everyday but we make it a couple of times a week. He loves my {chillay} and I might say it is pretty darn tasty! Next week we are going to make white chicken {chillay} and some stews. Here is my famous recipe for {Molly's Chillay}! And I spell chili the way I say it... {chillay}!
{Molly's Chillay}
1 pound ground beef browned
1 package mild chili seasoning
2 8 oz. cans of tomato paste
1 can of kidney beans, not drained
1 heaping spoon of sugar
1 heaping spoon of honey
1/4 cup of rice
4 cups of water
shredded cheese
sour cream
crackers
crock pot

First brown your beef, then drain. Throw in crock pot. Add your chili seasoning, 2 cans of tomato paste, 1 can of kidney beans not drained {the juice from the beans adds to the flavor}, your 1 heaping spoon of sugar, 1 heaping spoon of honey, 1/4 cup of rice and 4 cups of water. Set your crock pot on high for at least 3 hours. Serve with shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream and some tasty crackers!

Here is part of my Halloween costume! Can you guess what I an going to be? I am going to be a sparkly owl! I am now on the hunt for some gray leggings and some sparkly shoes! We have trunk or treat at church on Sunday and I dressing up for the kids. My truck will be the raffle truck, where we will pick someone every hour to win a gift card. Plus I can get all the kids information so I can write them notes and call them and get newbies in our church! Now I'm off to work on some things for my upcoming show. Can't wait to debut my new website on Tuesday!

Awesome book and Author!

I have followed her blog for a couple of years and loved how she wrote! Elizabeth Owen is a fabulous writer and has written a book! She just had a baby this past summer and then unfortunately had some medical issues but she is on the mend! When her book debuts on October 17th I will be buying it. Or if I win a signed copy from her I know my heart will skip a beat! Here is a little excerpt enjoy!

{Once one has breathed in the deep pungent aroma of sewage, you never again forget the nose-hair singeing, eye clawing, throat gagging experience. It comes over you slowly. You begin to feel like a character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest as your muscles involuntarily jerk and you run screaming and blowing raspberries. Anything to get away from the mind-numbing stench.
But let me explain.
It was 6:30 a.m. I was standing in my retro pink tiled bathroom trying to open my bleary eyes and ready myself for work. As I stood there, peering into the mirror and wondering what demented nighttime fairy had planted four new wrinkles on my face, I paused and sniffed.
“Matt… what’s that smell?”
Matt staggered from the bedroom in his underwear, eyes half shut. “I don’t smell anything.”
I pointed my nose into the air like a hunting dog. “Seriously? You can’t smell that? Did you go to the bathroom in here earlier? I told you to use the room spray when you do things like that.”
Matt puffed out his bare chest and gathered his pride as best a man can with sleep in his eyes and a small hole in the side of his underwear. “I just woke up!”
I frowned, catching a glimpse of my makeup-less hot-rollers-in-hair state and tried not to think about the fact that I looked fifty instead of twenty-nine. “Well, help me figure this out. Because something smells ripe.”
We sniffed the sink drain and ruled it out as a suspect.
“Is it coming from the toilet?” Matt asked, examining it from top to bottom.
“No, that’s not it,” I snapped. I’m not known for my milk of human kindness in a disaster. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a survivor. I plan on eating my radish like Scarlet and clawing my way out of the nuclear dust while dragging my loved ones with me. But I won’t be doing it with positive phrases and a smile.
“Hon, I just don’t know. We’ll call a plumber after work, maybe it’s coming from under the house.” Matt staggered a little, trying to get past me and out of our tiny bathroom.
“Well, that’s just great,” I moved aside and pulled the shower curtain back so I could perch on the side of the tub and give Matt room to move out the door.
That’s when the full brunt of nastiness filled the air around us, a swirling mix of excrement and acrid stench that would have brought the sewer dwelling Ninja Turtles to their knees. Where the normally slightly-clean-with-a-hint-of-soap-scum bottom of the tub should have been, there sloshed gallons and gallons of brown sewage.
I clutched the front of my sweatshirt and held my breath. Matt began to dry heave.
“Get out and shut the door!” I screamed as we bumbled into the hallway.
“I’ll deal with this,” Matt grabbed my shoulders, trying to talk and hold his breath at the same time.
I could feel my eyes glaze over, the horrors of typhoid and hepatitis in our bathtub filling my mind. But more importantly, I could envision our evaporated savings account. In my mind’s eye I could see the long, gray hallway at the bank. A worker shrouded in a black suit pulled a set of keys from his pocket and unlatched a small locker labeled “Owen Bank Account.” Inside were two small stacks of quarters and a few crumpled dollar bills. It was bleak, not only because the banker with an unimaginative wardrobe gazed at me with an expression that could only be interpreted as “You’re a Big Fat Loser,” but also there was a very definite possibility we wouldn’t be able to pay for a plumber.
I wasn’t necessarily a spend thrift. In fact, I was downright frugal when it came to decorating with thrift store furniture and rewired vintage lamps. But the fact was, we were poor. We were starting out at starter jobs with starter salaries. We were starter adults with a starter bank account.
“Okay,” I nodded numbly, thankful that Matt was taking the lead on such a disastrous biohazard. “But make sure the plumber is super cheap. We don’t have much money!”
I left for work like a wino stumbling through a fog, not really remembering my commute, not really doing any work as I sipped my coffee and stared blankly at the computer screen. A disaster of such gargantuan proportions had previously been unthinkable in my life, and now I found myself attempting to push the image of a vast sea of bathtub poop from my mind. But I was sure of one thing: Anne Shirley never had to get ready for work while breathing raw sewage.}

Counting my blessings

At the beginning of the summer I was so so sick. I could hardly eat, had shortness of breath and doctors telling me they had no clue why. I was so frustrated! I had people talking about me behind my back saying I was having a nervous breakdown, lived a wild life and was having panic attacks because of me wild life. Little did these people know that I live the most mudane life ever! At first I was mad that these "so called" friends of mine would say things like that about me, it really infuriated me! But then I got to thinking that maybe their own lives are so full of bad things that they need to talk about someone else and make up lies to make themselves feel better about their own problems. After that I was fine and personally forgave them in my heart but I no longer deal with those people.
During all this sickness I was referred to a therapist from Tunsania and instantly "loved" him! He didn't think I was crazy and didn't want to put me on pills. Instead he thought I should a get a second opinion to rule out anything that could be major. So I went for my second opinion and thats when I found out that I had a bacterial infection in the lining of my stomach that was causing me to be short of breath and not being able to eat. Plus it was mentally frustrating as well. After I found all this out I decided I didn't need to go to a therapist because I was sick and not having anxiety. Boy was I wrong!
So I went back to my new doctor and told her all the symptoms I was still feeling. She ordered all of my files from both hospitals and previous doctors office. She looked over them and told me that I had been tested for everything major and I was perfectly fine. I thought this would put me at ease but it didn't. I was still feeling like I could not breath at night and waking of breathing really fast. It freaked me out. I thought they had missed something. But my doctor assured me that I was fine. She told me I had anxiety. I told her she was nuts and I didn't have anxiety. She gave me a prescription for some pills that I have never filled and told her I wasn't. I told her I would think about seeing a therapist but in the back of my mind I knew I wasn't going to go to a therapist. I was fine, I knew they had missed something.
Two days later the therapist from Tunsinia called to check on me. He asked how I was doing and I told him all about my doctors visit and what infection I had and that I wasn't coming back to him. We ended the conversation and he said if you ever want to come and talk about what happened that he would love to see me. I told him that I was fine and I could handle it on my own.
Two weeks later I was having a really bad day. I couldn't eat, I was tired and I thought I was dying. With the infection I had it takes your body up to a year to get back to normal. So I will still feel all the symptoms I had when I was sick. Now thats a bummer! Anyways that day I just kept telling myself "Molly you are fine, it's just going to take time". I got down on the floor and just started praying and asking that the Lord just take this sickness away and heal me. And all I got was a name being repeated in my head. And I was thinking no Lord I'm not going to a therapist, I am sick not crazy! Boy does the Lord know you better than you do! So I got up and called the therapist like the Lord told me to.
My first appointment I was nervous. I just knew I didn't need to be there. I was still being very stubborn and knew the Lord was laughing at what a stubborn child I am of His. I went into the room and sat down. It was very cozy like the time I remembered three months ago. The lights were dim and the couch was full of blankets. He asked me how I was doing and I told him I was fine. We talked for an hour. I really like him. He was funny, told stories and let me tell him about my crazy life. He said he wanted to see me again the next week. I looked at him and thought what, um no I am fine, you showed me some breathing techniques, I'm cool. But something deep down told me to say yes to the next appointment.
The next week came and I was kind of excited to him at 3:00. I walked in and waited and read a magazine. He came and got me and I heard something say "see I told you". It was the Lord. WE went in the room and I sat down. I said "I haven't told you everything". He said "I know". I felt the Lord sitting with me on that cozy couch and I burst into tears. I told him how I was horrified of going to sleep because I thought I was going to wake up and couldn't breathe, I told him how my dad didn't think I was sick this summer and played favorites with his children, I told him how busy I was running three businesses, I told him how I still "feel" sick and there are some days I can't function. I felt so much better after I told him everything. I told him how I had prayed that day and the Lord told me to call him. It almost felt surreal being in that room. Then something magical happened.
He started qouting scripture and told me a story of how a man prayed about the "cross" he was carrying and God told him to let it go and pick out another cross and the man finally found a new cross but it was his cross he had given up in the first place. My therapist was a christian! He understood me, he knew where I was coming from.
I now feel like I can get over this sickness and anxiety from it because God found me a perfect person to help me. Little did I know four months ago that I would be sitting in that office again. I have only had two visits but I feel like such a burden has been lifted off of me. Isn't it funny how God works and you think you are in control but you are not. Its really hard to give everything to Him but in the end it's the best thing you can do, because God knows what best for you.

Oh I love my birthday with a passion! Each year I look forward to it! I love the cakes, cards and sparklies! Most of all I love my family!
My sweet baby brother and I went to the mall today and shared some baked ziti and mini cookies! And talked and laughed and shared secrets! This memory will be forever ingrained in my heart and mind forever!!
And since I turned 31 today there is one last thing you don't know about me! I started a cleaning ministry where I go and clean elderly people in my church homes. It has been the best blessing God could have given me! Most of the homes are spic and span when I get there, I think they like the fellowship most of all!

Hello! Happy Thursday! I just got back from a lovely lunch with my friend Becky and her new baby Hayleigh Ruth! She treated me to a sweet lunch of mexican and laughs! Then we got to talking about how we needed to get things revved up in church and get more in and saved! Oh the power of Christ!

Frustrated

Hello friends! Sorry I have been MIA but I am still trying to get over this H. Pylori infection and I still have my good and bad days. I am hosting my first church lock in this Friday night for the children. I am super excited!!
I would have thought by now that I would be feeling like my old self again.... wrong! Even though I have not had the shortness of breath, I still feel like there is something pulsating in my esophagus. And even when I tell my doctor about it she still wants me to wait another 2 weeks before she will refer me to a GI specialist. I went and got a second opinion at the beginning of the month and that doctor told me it was anxiety and acid reflux playing off of each other. I don't know about you but I know my body and I know when something is not right.
I feel like the people that are supposed to be the experts are not even listening to me. I have spent so much money this summer on doctors visits and medicines, it ain't even funny. I am so ready to be healed of this mess!
The only thing getting me through it is God, my friends praying for me, my awesome husband, my awesome mom and my brother and sister! If it weren't for them I don't know how I would be able to function. I feel like I get a little better everyday and I know it takes time for your stomach to heal but I would love for my doctor to be able to explain that to me instead answering me with a question. So frustrating!
Anyways, I have been working on my new fall line and my Christmas line the past couple of weeks. I am really excited to debut it sometime next week! It will have a vintage and enchanting flair to it!

The BEST Husband

Since our summer started off with me being sick and yes I AM STILL SICK! My husband has been my biggest supporter. He has taken care of me, listened to me whine and cry over what the heck is wrong with me and taken me to ER 6 times and fussed out doctors in my defense. I could not ask for a better husband! He has seen me at my worst this summer and has put up with a lot junk from doctors and me being too tired to even function. I know God sent him to me for this reason, to take care of me. During all this, he has managed to get up and go to work even after countless nights of staying up with me in the ER and getting about 2 hours sleep. I love this man and he tells me everyday how much he loves me. I thank my lucky stars and God everyday for blessing me with him! Hopefully Wednesday I will get some results, I see a new doctor, hopefully one that will listen to me!

P.S Since being sick I have lost about 15 pounds! Which is good but I didn't want to lose it this way, ha!

Hey friends! I am still alive! I have just been extremely sick and now that I have finished my antibiotics I still feel tired, heavy headed and sick to my stomach! This bacterial infection has been the pits! Luckily I am hoping that the antibiotics killed the infection and that I won't have to take another round next month. I miss blogging and posting my products and chatting with you all, but I have been just too tired to do it. So hopefully in the next week I will feel better and can start posting and showing off some of my new creations. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

5 ER visits later....

Oh my has June been a month! After five ER visits, four *quacks* telling me I was having panic attacks and a bad drug reaction, I finally got in to see my doctor last Thursday. Breaking news... I was NOT having panic attacks but there is a possibility of three things causing me to have shortness of breath and heart palpitations. One I have acid reflux which my FABULOUS doctor gave me prescription for and I am finally feeling a little better after day four of medication, two: I have had a viral infection that has made my heart not pump fast enough or three: I have an irregular heart beat. I am hoping and praying that it is just acid reflux. My doctor told me that 90% of people that have acid reflux don't know they have it because they don't feel the burning sensation in the throat and stomach. Also I didn't know that acid reflux could cause you to think your heart was beating super fast and cause to be short of breath. The shortness of breath is caused by your esophagus spasming.
I go Friday for a echo cardiogram and a loop heart monitor.
EDIT: My doctor just called to let me know that I have bacterial infection called H.Pylori that causes flare ups in acid reflux. He still wants me to go Friday to get the heart monitor and echo cardiogram to make sure that this infection has not done any damage to my heart.

Healed By Prayer

Two weeks ago I woke up thinking I was sick. I had shortness of breath and was sick to my stomach. I went to the ER to be diagnosed with food poisoning. That following Sunday I went back to the ER with shortness of breath to be diagnosed with a panic attack. Since that Sunday I have been back to the ER because of a reaction a drug. My church has prayed for me and I feel 100% better today than I did two days ago. I found a really good doctor to help me get through these panic attacks and don't have to take any medication unless I feel one coming on.
I have deep faith in God and know He healed me! My church prayed for and so did my family. I can't thank them enough. The last two weeks have been kinda of rough but now I think I can enjoy my summer :) So starting next week I will have another craft for Wednesday!

Inspiration Workshop: Kitchens

Meet *Hennie* by sweet hen that holds all my cooking utensils. She lives by the stove just waiting for me to use something she holds :)

My kitchen is full of children's art! Either from my brother and sister or from my sweet children I teach on Sunday and Wednesday nights. We made mosaic Easter eggs at our annual Easter egg hunt at church. The wine bottle Mike found for me in a dumpster and I decided to put lights in and place it over my microwave. We don't drink so if I find the need for a wine bottle we go *dumpster diving*, ha ha. And my sweet heart shaped measuring cups I bought right before we got married. I heart them!

One of my favorite aprons I bought at the Antique Liberty festival a few years ago. I named her *queen apron* since I an the queen of my trailer, ha ha. I love all the different blues and greens mixed together.

Pengy is my cookie jar that my dad gave me for Christmas. I love him! He lives by my coffee pot and loves to see the children's art!

And my last mosaic egg that my sweet Emily made me. I love her! Mostly all my decorations in my home are from children and that's the best decoration when it's made just for you!

Dye Dipped PostCards!

Happy June 1st! Tomorrow is a special day! My baby sister turns 14,ahhhhh! So in lieu of her birthday I decided to make her a *handmade* birthday postcard. Each Wednesday I will have a new craft up for the week as part of my summer challenge to try new crafts.
Supplies: 4 x 6 blank index cards
dyes or watercolors or inks in your fave colors
a few bowls to pour your dye or ink into
paper towels or newspaper

First decide which colors you want to use. I used yellow, fuchsia, turquoise and purple. These colors mix well also. Then I laid out some newspaper for my postcards to dry on. Get out the number of bowls needed for the number of colors you are using. Pour inks or dyes into their own separate bowl. Now just dip your blank index card into the dye. If you want a darker color then leave the card in the dye longer. For a lighter color just dip the card a couple of times into the dye. Then lay flat to dry. I dipped each end in two different colors and loved it. You can now stamp designs on the front of your newly dyed postcard!

On My Heart

Last summer during vacation bible school God placed it on my heart to start a children's bible study on Sunday nights. At first I was thinking, "are you sure about this God?". Needless to say that yes He was sure. Me and Mike have loved every single bible study and have gotten so close with the children. We have had movie party's, hosted a Sweet Heart dinner for our seniors at church and various other outreach activities. Our goal was show the children what ministry is like, what it means to outreach and to help others, spread the gospel and just love one another.
What I didn't know I was going to find out is how so many of these children I have begun to teach and love, come from a broken home, parents that don't care and lost loved ones. My heart breaks into a million pieces every single time I hear them talk about it. I just want to scoop them up and take them home and love them and show them how a family is supposed to be. My family is beyond prefect but there is so much love in it.
I have two new children that have joined my bible study and the children's choir. The sister had only been coming to choir and bible study and then her brother came Wednesday night to choir. I knew of their family from a lady that I have been cleaning her house for her since she can't physically do it anymore and she had told me about their situation. (More on that later) We have been learning fathers day songs and I could tell something was up when the little boy was shying away from singing. When choir was over I took all the children outside to play. The brother stayed close to me. He looked up at me and told me his father was out of town and that he was never coming back. I literally had to hold myself together. How could a father leave this brother and sister, they so cute and loving. I know the brother has some kind of learning disability but really I hope the father would not leave because of that. No pun intended but he acted a lot like Forrest Gump. He told me all the presidents, how Abraham Lincoln was killed, who killed him and how the killer knew that president Taft was not going to be with Lincoln. The boy was smart!
When he left I made sure I gave him a huge hug for being so brave for coming to children's choir and singing beautifully.
I have always wondered why God gave me a heart for children. Why do I love them so much? Why do I want to teach them? Guide them? Help them? Be their friend and get down on their level? Why?
Because there are children out there that no one cares about. That have been pushed to the wayside, been looked over. Those are the kids I get and love. Those are the ones God has sent me to love and teach. I get them. Funny how God puts you where He needs you and not where you think you should be.
So that's whats on my heart, my children I teach on Wednesday and Sunday nights. I would not trade this for anything. They are my heart and my light!

Hello friends! I hope everyone weathered the storm all right! We had a *brush* with last night and into early this morning but I think we are out of the woods in my viewing area! I got everyone who lost a loved one or lost everything in my prayers!!!

A couple of years ago I used to run a flea market in downtown and loved it. Now that I have a small chicken farm I don't get to run the flea market like I used to. The House That Built Me

I love this song by Miranda Lambert, I love her music! Plus she and my sister share the same name! Oh this song brings back memories of the house I grew up in with my grandparents. Last week I drove by my old house and day dreamed of all the playing me and my sister did together and all the bridge party's my granny would host. The current owners tore down the shed in the backyard and have really junked the place up. I looked at my sister and said 'you know granny has probably turned herself around in her grave'.
I am not sure why I am being so sentimental these days. Not sure what God has in store for us. But I do know I have a strong faith in Him and I know for a fact that the light will shine very very soon.

I love how God brings in 'sunshine' when you are feeling blue. I found this picture on a blog that is documenting restoration in my hometown. You see that beautiful lady standing there so elegantly, that's my granny on the groundbreaking day of the education building of my home church, Calvary United Methodist! When I scrolled down and saw her I lost my breath! My afternoon immediately brightened up when I saw her smile! This blog also mentioned my granddaddy's drug store, Kale Drug. Isn't it funny how God can show His love for you in the most mundane ways? I know He was looking down and thinking 'how can I make Molly's day since she is going through some trials?'. Ok maybe He didn't say that, ha ha, but He did send this picture my way to make my Monday happier after hearing not so good news from my dad. Howdy Monday!

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! My weekend was crazy and good! Friday night we ended up hanging out in the backyard and sitting and talking. Saturday we were met with a storm that killed 22 people in my state, which is NC and all of this hit all around me, within just miles of us. Tornadoes were spawned by this storm and we never have tornadoes here. Very scary, very thankful that I didn't lose my house, my life or a loved one. I will definitely be praying for those that did! Sunday was beautiful! We went to church then headed over to the Homestead for buffet lunch. Let me tell you I thought they were going to have to roll us out of there, ha ha! We ate so much but it was so so good! Fried chicken, roast beef, ham, squash casserole, butter beans and corn, green beans, biscuits, salad and the desserts oh my! Definitely some good country eating! Ok so I am thinking about cutting my hair like this! I love this haircut and actually I like it better in her shorter version, which I don't have a picture of. But I think it is gorgeous and really really want it. So on Friday I might post a picture of my new do if I decide to cut my hair. My motto is 'it's just hair it will grow back', ha ha! Sometimes being a child of a hair dresser is the pits because I have had so many cuts and colors I get bored fairly easy and want something new! So please let me know what you think about the cut. I am in love with it!!! And plus I need to some blond highlights in the front so getting this cut would look fab with that!! ~Gal Molly

His humor and wittiness bring me joy unspeakable! My baby brother always trys to be the man of the house and make things right when life feels like it is fixing fall right out from under your feet. He knows how to calm his 30 year old sister down when she is upset with life, with funny jokes and always with 'Molly I can fix it, I'll make it better'. Thank Lord for the best baby brother anyone could ask for and thank you for giving him a huge huge heart!

7 years ago in May I went on a date with this gentleman! Never did I realize what an amazing life we would have together and all the ups and down life can throw at you all at once. But I am thankful to God for bringing me a husband that loves the Lord, has nightly talks with the Lord in the barn, loves me more than life itself, loves people, loves serving his Lord and is willing to do whatever He calls him to do! He gave Mike the gift of humor in times of trouble, He gave him the gift of being resourceful in times of trouble, He gave him a huge heart!

Our life has been turned upside down for the past three months, it has been very hard! I have cried more in the last three months than I have in my whole life. But my faith in Jesus has helped me and Mike through this. I can only thank Him for carrying us through this crazy, upside down life! Why He loves me enough to keep blessing me I don't know, but I do know He has never left me or my family! I know the light is shining, I can see a glimmer! It might be a far off glimmer but I can see it! I know God is pulling me and Mike in a different direction and we are ok with that. Kind of scared but have a peace about where He is taking our life to next.

Life is hard and no one said it would be easy. I am just glad I have Jesus with me to go through it and help me and guide me. Jesus makes my life lovely, bright and meaningful! Without Him I am no one! I still have a ways to go before I am out of the woods but Jesus will be right beside me in those woods, guiding and helping me along the path.

Thank you Lord for blessing me with a beautiful and loving family and for keeping me safe and providing for every need when I think where in the world our next meal is going to come from, thank you for blessing me with a loving church family and for friends. I love you more than life itself! Amen!

Do you ever have a list of some sort like a celebrity list or a to do list of things to do before you turn a certain age? Well I made up a heaven/bible celebrity list of people I can't wait to see, meet and talk to. Know it is going to be fun talking to all those who have gone before us. Please don't think I am being morbid, I just think it will be really cool to talk to others and get to know them and praise God together. Although I hope God has a crafting house up there for all us crafty people, ha ha! So here is my top 10 list of bible celebrities in no particular order :) 1. Esther... If you know me you know that I heart Esther big time! I can not wait to meet her, oh man I am excited about meeting Esther! 2. Ruth... Love her! She is awesome! Enough said! 3. Naomi... she attributed her suffering for God's will! Enough said! 4. Mary of Bethany... she sat at Jesus's feet while her sister Martha prepared dinner. She listened and that's what Jesus said was the best thing to do! 5. Martha... I feel kind of like her since I like to keep a clean house and prepare for glorious people like she did for Jesus! 6. Sarah.. she was an old mother and gave birth to Issac, the child of promise 7. John the Baptist... Jesus thought he was in my words 'da bomb'! He lived in the woods, ate bugs, was a real preacher of the gospel! 8. Jesus... do I really need to tell why :) 9. Eve... I need to ask her a question ;) 10. Rahab... clever and wise! Risked her and her family's life in an act of faith! I could list more bible celebrities but I only wanted you to see my top 10. Do you have a bible celebrity list or a favorite person you want to meet in heaven? It will be so much fun in heaven praising God and getting to know everyone. I know we will have a grand time! **I think 'Stella' has her groove back! I know God loves me and only wants the best for me and my family. He always makes me feel better! Always inspires me! Always makes me laugh! I love my husband more than life itself and I am so glad God brought him into my life!

I feel better today, I got some ideas swirling around my head when I was feeding my chickens this morning. Yesterday was not a pity party, sometimes you just have to let it out. I am moving forward today, with prayer, petition and repentance. God never lets us down even though we let Him down. Good ol' Satan knows how to get in your head make you think things. I think sometimes that my faith is so strong that Satan wants to try to take that away from me. Well he better look somewhere else because he is not taking my joy anymore!

Hopefully tomorrow I will have new pictures of some new items in my shop! They are very pretty and eclectic!

Off to go collect eggs and check on the biddies!

Oh this has been a weekend! For almost two weeks we thought there might be a little one running around here soon, but yesterday confirmed that there wasn't. We were upset! It has been almost six years and still no baby. Not sure when my turn will come or if it will come. God only knows that. I am fine with being an old mother, I'll be 31 this September and yes I realize that 31 is not old but when you think about 20 years down the road, you start to think 'when am I ever going to conceive'.

I really don't want to sound selfish but everyone I know around me is either pregnant or just had a baby. Whats up with that? Whats up with my etsy shop not selling a thing? Whats up with living paycheck to paycheck? Whats up with this crazy world? Whats up with church members talking about other church members?

I know it is all in God's timing and I know that He didn't give Mike his new job for a reason even though the pay cut has really really hurt. My faith has strengthened wildly this new year and I can only think that it is for the better. I know God doesn't close one door without opening another nor does He want us to suffer but to be blessed.

So maybe in few months we will see what happens. Only good comes out of God! ~Gal Molly

World Water Day!

Did you know that 4,000 children die from the lack of clean drinking water? Oh that saddens my heart! But by working together we can help! God's work, works the best when we all work hard together!

1/3 of all wells drilled in the last 20 years are now broken. But we can help!

Here is a picture of a broken well in a village. Look at all those beautiful people, they need clean drinking water and the word of God!

Too often there are no tools, spare parts or trained mechanics to fix the broken wells. I am loving this picture of everyone working together to fix a broken well. My heart sings with joy!

Oh this picture is so cute! Look at the beautiful lady dancing with her wrench! She is too cute!

Two years ago a hand pump mechanics business was setup by WaterAid.

Villagers call the shop when a hand pump breaks down and a mechanic bikes over to fix it.

The mechanics also train villagers in hygiene education and well maintenance to prevent disease and future breakdowns.

Water samples are brought to the lab to make sure the water is safe to drink.

They need to hire 25 more mechanics

Invest in the launch of a sanitary pad side business

Buy more equipment

Strengthen the program in Mahoba, and help WaterAid expand into the state of Bihar

Our goal is to raise $10,000 in one day! I believe this can happen because God makes unbelievable things happen. I can witness to that! If we raise this much money it would bring clean drinking water to 300 more people a month!
And that's 3,600 people a year!

I teamed up with 100 other bloggers to help raise awareness for this great cause! So if you feel led to give, any amount, whatever you feel led to give I would be so happy! If we all work together, God will make BIG things happen! He always does!

Oh this speaks to my heart!

Mike told me Saturday that he felt God was calling him to the ministry. I got so overwhelmed with joy! I think it would be so fulfilling to be able to minister to people! I love God and can't get enough of Him! He makes me heart sing with joy!

I have some clay and rhinestones bracelets being added to the shop today! Think of tangerine, gray, aqua, periwinkle, navy, hot pink, purple! My favorite colors!

Metamorphosis Part 2

Metamorphosis = Change in Greek
I am still changing
I still struggle with a sin that does not define who I am
I pray God will help me when I think or act on it
To help me not to think or act on it
I know He forgives and wipes the sin away forever
I know the Devil throws this sin in my face to make me feel bad, to make me feel like I am not worthy of His mercy and grace and forgiveness
That's why from today on I will keep my self in the Word
Because on days that I don't I find myself in the Word I start falling back into that sin and after I have I feel awful and lay down and pray
I know He forgives and I know He has great things for me in this life to honor Him
We are all human and sin is natural

But 4 days after metamorphosis I did fall back into sin
I think the Devil knew I was loving Jesus all day everyday and he came and made me fall
But that's ok, I have repented and I know I am forgiven
We all fall short of the glory of God
We are not perfect
But He forgives and loves us
He loves me and I know He wants to help me overcome this sin

I love Jesus
He didn't give me this heart for no reason
He didn't give me a love for souls for no reason
He didn't give me spiritual gifts for no reason
We are all human and sin is sin and all too quickly comes in our lives at the best moments we are feeling like we have overcome sin
We will never overcome sin BUT we can pray that He helps us to not act on it
That's what I love about Christ, that He loves us even when we do sin and He wipes our slates clean after we have repented

Don't you want that love too?

Baby Bangs!

The baby is getting too grown! She got bangs last week and now she looks 5 years older, ahhhhh! But isn't she beautiful! I am so so blessed to have her as my baby sister and best friend! Oh I wuvs her!

Um about the video I promised, well that's not going to happen today unless the Lord mysteriously lets me figure out how to use it on my camera, ha ha! I thought I knew how and I don't. I will keep fiddling with it until I do! I am trying to figure out where I put the handbook and can't find that either!

And I am really really excited about this weekend! Starting tomorrow night me and my sweetie will be with the youth for the whole weekend at Metamorphosis! Metamorphosis comes from the Greek words that mean 'change'. Last year we went and it was life changing, I wish everyone could go! We will have the same pastor, Nathan Smith! He is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! By Saturday night he had everyone crying and giving their life to Christ! I can only imagine what this weekend will bring!

I am leading the middle school girls and Mike has the high school boys. We will spend the night at host homes and do devotions and probably stay up late. The only thing I don't like is being away from Mike at nigh time. The only time I spent the night away from ever since we have been married was last year when we had our Esther party, which was fun and fabulous! I should be fine because I will be with him all day Friday and Saturday. I know I am 30 but I love my husband more than life itself and am so blessed to have him in my life, I absolutely hate being away from him. But I am doing God's work with leading these girls both nights so.

Ok I am off to clean, make some more clay jewelry and finish up my lessons for this weekend! Happy Thursday!
