Happy New Year!

Happy 2010! We have been battling cold temps and blustery winds this weekend. We have had to apply Vaseline to the hens combs so they don't freeze, its just that cold. We are up to six eggs a day and have our first weekly client wanting two dozen eggs a week. This is fabulous! Our Silkies that are still living in our laundry room are getting their coop built this month. They will be able to go out in about two more months. After we get them out I plan on buying some Old English Bantams, full grown they still look like baby chicks and lay itty bitty eggs. I think that will be my Valentines present, keeping my fingers crossed. Scotty the rooster is still living it up in the barn and keeping look after the place. He is our "guard dog"! We have been working on clearing land for our flock of five hundred chickens we plan on getting in the coming months. We have prayed and prayed and God always finds the means for us to buy supplies and more chickens. I think we might a couple of pygmy goats and let them help us by eating some of the brush. There is a feed store that sells them and they are too cute and sweet. Got to go help build the new coop, see ya tomorrow!

Until I blog again ~ Gal Molly
