Siesta Scripture Memory Verse

Siesta Scripture Memory Video #1 from LPV on Vimeo.

Happy Tuesday! Oh I am excited about today and tomorrow! Today I am making up some pretty flower pendants and sharing with you my scripture verse for Beth Moore's Siesta Scripture Memory Verse Challenge. Tomorrow I get to post my outfits and link up with the Pleated Poppy! On the verse!

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." ~John 8:12

Saturday night my sweet husband treated me to dinner at Tripp's and we headed over to the Christian book store afterwards. As Mike was looking for a new children's bible study book I was off wandering around looking at the clearance table. I found a small candle box with a sweet angel on the front and picked it up, because the angel looked very *vintage*. When I turned over the box it had a scripture on it and I read it and knew God had put that verse there for me to memorize.
So many times I wonder why He lets me have this glorious life and how He blesses me and my family beyond compare. I thank Him daily! I just finished up Beth Moore's bible study Stepping Up, it's about the Psalms of Ascent, LOVE IT! When I started this study she talked about lying on the floor face down and praying. At first I was like really? But let me tell you... nothing is more humbling than lying face down and giving everything and I mean everything to God. After my first prayer face down, I can't pray any other way when I at home. I have come up from some long prayers and felt so more alive so free so loved! You should try it. It's ok to laugh at first but let me tell you, you will love it my friends!
Anyways, I follow Beth Moores blog and I watched this video and had to do it. I want so badly to memorize scripture so I can have His word embedded in my heart! So I have ordered a siesta spiral and can't wait for it to get here. Oh and if you don't know what a 'siesta' is, it means 'sista'! Ha ha! Cute I know. One day when Beth was finishing up her post she hit spell check and unknowing hit siesta when she was correcting sista. She didn't notice until a few readers commented about it and she loved it so it stuck. And I am bummed that I can't figure out why my video keeps getting lost in blogland but if I figure out how to do it I will post 'siestas'.
Funny how God placed that candle box right in front of me to read and memorize that verse!
