sweet sound of Jesus

The first time I heard this song I cried. It is so true he accepts everyone even the broken ones :) Last week my Ronald was a usher in vacation bible school, Jesus spoke to him. He taught, he sang, he listened. He now wants to go to mission fuge this summer, a big step for him. I've always said he would be a great teacher, now I'm wondering a teacher of what, Jesus. This past week has been trying and my faith was tested but I didn't back down because I knew He would never leave me. As the week ended I looked around and asked myself, "was it really that bad?". No, it wasn't. God doesn't give you anything he knows you can't get through. He has always provided and we have never went without. This past year has been life changing. Our decisions not only include us but Him. My heart wants to do more in this life than focus on material things. There is so much more to life than what you own or can get. Last week I literally gave a homeless man my last couple of bucks, clearly he needed it more than I did. I had a roof over my head, food on my table, clean clothes and my faith in God. It;s the little things I do that give me the most pleasure, not some fancy car or purse, I could care less about those things. I am researching into how I can volunteer my time to help the less fortunate and minister to those who have not found Christ. I don't need anymore money, I have what God allows. My time here on earth and how I use it is what matters to me. If you haven't found Christ please listen to this song and I will say a prayer for you. This song is so true, I know you will cry tears of joy listening to it.

When in doubt call upon the Lord

This week the devil has really tested me and Mikes faith. But the Lord has prevailed like normal and didn't let us down or leave us :) I have learned this week who my friends are and which family members really love us. Sometimes its just good to be humble. I have cried most of the week and probably lost 10 pounds. I have spent precious time with my Ronald and Elizabeth and been with my mama. I have given a homeless man my last bit of money this week and wished I would have taken him to dinner with us. Life is hard, no one said it was going to be easy, but if you have faith in the Lord and a little patience he will reveal himself to you. We found a new church and LOVE it! I have wished my granny were here to be with me and my family, we will meet again soon. This week my faith has deepened and I've relied totally on God, because it is he who knows my future and plans and will keep me safe and humble. Thank you Lord and mama for your guidance, faith and help. Sometimes it's OK to be humble.

The Sissy Chronicles

Have you seen my sister blog? If not head on over there. This week you are learning about each one of my siblings and their quirky characteristics and what makes us the Lopossay clan. I have made a button for your sidebar which is over to your right --------------->. Next week the fun begins with funny and delightful stories about childhood and being the big sister to four siblings. I am doing this so I can keep track of all my favorite memories with them, and so you all can laugh and see that we were some "crazy" kids. Hope all is well today. And yes I know keep saying to check back to see new designs, I really do have them, I just have been caught up with sending packages and sales and what nots. I will definantly have them on here by tonight or in the AM. Peace out!!

My beloved Charlie

Here is a small picture of Ella, Charlie's wife. Yesterday Charlie went to duck heaven because he was hit by an idiot that knew he was there in the grass but didn't care. We live on about 10 acres of farmland and to get to our house you have to drive on a winding dirt path, this is where Ella and Charlie hang out most of the day. They would wait until they saw our car and would follow us down to our house. These ducks are big mind you and not small so I know the person that hit him had to feel it. Ella has been in mourning ever since, she was calling for help when we arrived home yesterday. Mike is now looking for a mail order husband for Ella so she won't be alone. Ella and Charlie just had babies and I know she needs some support. I am trying to make light of this situation as I am so mad at the person who did this. I know there are some teenagers that live at the beginning of the path and they like to ride rough in the dirt. Plus I saw tire tracks and Charlie was far enough in the grass and away from the path. Rest in peace my little friend, I will try to find Ella a suitable husband:)

A biddy coop and hotness

Oh my gosh was this weekend HOT!! I can usually take the heat since I worked in it for two years helping my sweetie deliver packages but Saturday it was a scorcher. The breeze blew not cool air but hot air and it was steamy and just miserable but as Joel Osteen says " I wasn't going to let it steal my joy" and me and Mike made the best of it. We started out in Wake Forest for a haircut and then to get me some supplies and then to move some equipment around. We have five pieces at a flea market and I scored a cute ruffle top for five bucks. We then made our way back home and ate dinner at the C&H cafeteria, which is one of our favorite joints to eat. You can a meat, two veggies, bread, drink and dessert for cheap. Then I convinced Mike that I needed some new shoes for church so we ended up in the mall.
But what I really wanted to tell you is that we have our biddy coop built. Mike built it in about an hour and it is too cute. The end of July can't get here fast enough. I think we might go and get one biddy from a local guy just so we can have one now. We would buy from him but he mixes all his chickens and doesn't have full breeds. And if Mike is going to do something he wants it done right so he wants all full bred chickens, I can't blame him. Yesterday we went to Home Depot and found their scrap bin and paid only five bucks for the wood we needed to build our biddy coop. We then headed over to the Lowe's for chicken wire and some precut wood Mike wanted for the coop as well. I would have taken a picture but silly me didn't charge my batteries so I'll post one tomorrow. It really is a cute coop!!
I will have some new jewelry in the shop later today. I have to resize my photos so etsy can pload them.

A good story

Most nights I just fall right to sleep but then there are some nights when I love listening to a good story. When I was little my granny would have a routine in which to help me and my sis to fall asleep. First we took a bath and she would sing us a song while we got dressed called "Put your draws on Sally" ( I know funny but I love it ), then we would get all tucked into our bed and listen to the story of "Witch and Monster". Now my granny's mini series she would tell us was not scary but rather funny. Witch lived in a little house that had an apple tree in the backyard, knitting supplies and chocolate cake. Her boyfriend Monster would come pick her up every night to go eat at the Sizzler and then to bring her home where they would eat apple pie and laugh. After my granny would finish the story we would say our prayers and she would give us a big kiss and a hug. After she would leave the room me and my sis would talk and laugh about nothing and mostly play with our dolls in our huge bed we shared.
Nights when I ask Mike to tell me a story it reminds me of the stories my granny would tell and puts me right to sleep. My granny gave me my love of stories and books. I love telling a good story whether its true or fictional, there all good. There's something about hearing and telling a story that brings a childlike nostalgia to your soul.

No Excuses

Most of the time I am nice, kind hearted, a Child of God and giving. But I have heard two of the most awful stories in my life and have no sympathy for the parents, social services and police involved. Story one: a father killed all of his children, I think there were three, to cause emotional pain on his ex-wife. WHAT!! That is so redundant to me, what a selfish jerk. I don't care what mental state he was in, there is NO EXCUSE for the act he committed. I hope he is locked up for life and not given the death penalty because he needs to live with that for the rest of his life. Story two: a grandfather killed his six year old grandson over a dropped watermelon in Atlanta, did I hear that correctly. Social services had been involved and there had been over 67 calls to the police over domestic violence. This really enrages me to the point where I had to sit down and just pray for these idiots and selfish people. We adopted my brother and sister through foster care and the only reason my baby brother was placed with us, was because his mother left him alone for 48 hours. HUH?! Social services knew she was a drug addict and still didn't take him from her until she left him alone. To me that is ridiculous and heinous. Children are innocent and don't deserve to be abused, killed or just left in limbo in the so-called system. I hope both of these people get the punishment they deserve and no I'm not judging, they will meet their maker and he will determine where they go. I just can't imagine what was going through those children's minds while this was happening to them. Please pray for the dysfunctional parents out there that only think of themselves and not the children they brought into this awful world.

Hello Lover....Shorty's Hot Dogs

Way back before I met my sweetum's I would only eat hot dogs at a little place called The Dog House. It was cute, quaint and you could drive up grab a dog and go. My grandaddy and I would eat there at least three times a week and get two boxers, french fry and their famous lemonade. Now you might be asking yourself what a boxer dog is, well it consists of mustard, ketchup, chili and onions, ooh it was so tasty. Now if my sweet grandaddy were still here I would take him down to Wake Forest for a Shorty's Hot Dog, he would love it I know. When I met my sweetum's five years ago he took me there for lunch one day and I was hooked. Yes you could have offered me fillet Mignon and I would have passed you up for a delicious dog. They do not lie when they say "Heaven in a bun" as their slogan, it truly is. Not only are their hot dogs out of this world but we have equipment in there so it is a win win situation. I would marry that hot dog if I could. A Shorty's hot dog consists of ketchup, homemade chili and cut on the spot onions. I had the privilege of eating there Saturday while we were out and about. So with that said if you are ever in Wake Forest NC please stop by Shorty's Famous Hot Dogs you won't be disappointed and look for our gumball, candy and bouncing ball machines too.

Mountain Memories

Pink, yes that was my granny's favorite color. She also liked Patsy Cline and Micheal Jackson, especially his song Thriller, she was cultured:) One hot summer we all went to the mountains, me, my granny, grandaddy, mom and lil sis. After we had packed out my mom's Pulsar, that car was so little I can't believe we all fit, we popped in a Patsy Cline tape and went on our journey. When we arrived in the Great Smoky Mountains of NC we stayed at this quaint little inn that had toothpicks in the nightstands that smelled like cinnamon, sorry I relate everything to food and of course those bibles that every hotel and motel have. Me and my granny shared a room and it was lovely, we slept together and snuggled. I remember this trip fondly because one it was freezing when we got there so we had to head over to the Belk's and buy some warmer clothes and second this was the summer before my granny passed of breast cancer. Each day we did something special like jewel mining, Tweetsie Railroad and getting our picture taken on the cliff of the mountain where the wind blew so hard my baby sister almost got blown off, no joke. My grandaddy was loving this little restaurant that served eggs, he loved him some breakfast food. On the way home we listened to that same Patsy Cline tape and sung along with her, although she sounds way better than me of course. I heard her song " I go walking after midnight" last week on the radio and it reminded me of this trip and my last vacation with my beloved granny.

My love of short hair

This is my current "do", which I love but I think I need it a little more funky for the summer.
Had this same cut two summers ago and loved it. I am thinking this is where I will be headed in the next week!!!

Love, love, love this cut because it was longer on one side and I could make it look funky. Although I did get some woman that asked if it was supposed to look like that and I in turn said yes and to stop hating, HA HA!!

I really like the way this hairstyle is slightly angled and her"bump" is messy in the back.

Yes you read the title correctly I LOVE short hair, always have. I can't remember when I have ever had my hair long, oh wait my wedding and I really wanted to cut it off but my mother insisted that I have a famous southern up do for my wedding. I am in need of a highlight and cut soon so I will be needing to find a new "do". I change my hair style about every four to six weeks depending on my mood, I always keep it short though. Now that it is summer I think I need to go shorter and stack out my "bump" as I call it and get a little blonder. Luckily I married a man that LOVES short hair and doesn't complain about me changing every month to a new "do".

I have found a few new hairstyles that I love and actually I have had one of them before. You all remember when Victoria Beckham had the new angled "do", well I had to have it only to remember when I was in 8TH grade I had my mom cut my hair like before and dye it red. Oh yes I was the talk of the middle school because no one and I mean one ever had as many"do's" as me.Oh where was I, yes back to the Victoria "do", I loved it and got so many compliments on it. Then came the more longer on the sides angled bob and so I let it grow out a bit and loved it as well.
The pictures above of are past, present and future "do's" I love and will probably don sometime in the very near future. So be on the look out for a new "do" within the next week posted here on the blog.

P to the S. Which one do you all like the best? You can't hurt my feelings because in all true reality I will pick the one I love :)

Our favorite places

One of me and Mikes favorite things to do is go on the Ghost Walk of Old Wilmington. If you live within a couple of hours of Wilmington ,NC I highly recommend it. Mike has become friends with one of the guides of the walk and I think its funny that they both have the same name. Every year we go they talk for about 30 minutes before and after the walk. Anyways back to the walk, they take you on a 90 minute walk through downtown Wilmington and tell stories of documented haunting's. It is not scary by no means so kids can go on the walk as well. You can see beautiful houses and churches and learn some history of the town. We have been every walk (there's about 30) and even if we hear a repeat story it is never the same as we heard it before. Someone might have had a sighting, seen a few orbs in pictures they took or an owner of the property might have had a new encounter. This beats anything we have done while at the beach and we have made some awesome friends. Mike always jokes that when we move to the beach he wants to become a Ghost Walk guide and honestly he probably will someday :)
Another past time we love is to go to flea markets and rummage through old stuff. Mike is always on the hunt for vintage gumball machines to use on our routes. I always am looking for unique jewelry, little tables, scarves, dishes or anything that catches my eye. There is one antique mall we favorite a lot in Raleigh, NC. They have a lot of vendors and one in particular sells vintage beads. I have bought a few bags of them from her and have made some unique pieces that will be hitting my shop within the week.
And last but not least we love to go to Barnes & Noble and just browse books. We can stay in there for hours just looking up different things and reading about them. Mike likes all the books about history, building things and gumball machines. I love the craft section and the Nancy Drew books. I just sent off my Nancy Drew swap package Monday so I Trish likes it.
I have some fun things hitting the blog and shop by weeks end. So please check back today, tomorrow and Friday for some awesome announcements.

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!

One of my favorite pictures of us just being casual at my wedding.
She wanted our dresses to match at my wedding, luckily the designer that made my dress made the matching junior bride's dress to match. Love my little babe!!!!

One of my favorite pictures of her as a baby.

This February at Ronald's play Seussical.

Last summer at her recital at the Carolina theater. Her and Ronald being their normal funny selves.

Twelve years ago a teenie tiny baby was born. We rushed to the hospital and saw the beauty that waited us. We took her home ten days later and fell in love. She wore preemie diapers and drank from a preemie bottle, she was just too cute for words. A few months later we enrolled her into a deaf and hard of hearing preschool and started taking Sign Language classes. She learned very fast and it was so precious to watch her little fingers Sign to us. She was a messy baby to be such a beautiful baby, HA HA. She always got food all over her, played in the mud pies her and Ronald would make and loved playing in a big pile of sugar and milk (very fun to clean up!!). When she was two she got her first cochlear implant, our local paper did a story on her. The day she heard for the first time was breath taking. Her little face lit up with excitement and fear. She had never heard anything before this day, ultimately she cried and we took the aid off. That was the beginning of our long journey into speech therapy, learning Cued Speech and many, many doctors appointments. She now has two cochlear implants and talks your head off, I wouldn't trade it for anything. It wasn't an easy process, there were times that we thought she wouldn't talk or Sign again to us. But the Lord knew what he was doing and guided us in the right direction.

I am so happy to have had the privilege of being her big sister these twelve years and look forward to many more. I love you my Lizzie loo bug!!
